Touchy Feely Polish Days!

Hey all!

It's a miracle! I'm posting something that's not a challenge mani! I missed last month's Polish Days and didn't want to repeat it this time. Polish Days are basically, a day where multiple bloggers agree to post on a certain topic on the same day at the same time and they're coordinated by Hannah from Polly Polish.

The theme for today was pretty open to interpretation, it was just 'sentimental'. I decided to use the first polish that I remember buying and loving, Milani Black Cherry. It was when I was in high school, around 2005-2007 probably, when the rage was black or almost black nails. We were in a group talking about this awesome shade we saw on someone else that was a dark almost black plum (no one knew the term 'vampy' of course). Later, I spotted this pretty at Walgreens and, when I wore it to school, my friends all had to know which color it was since it was exactly what we were looking for. This wasn't the beginning of my full fledged addiction, but it certainly helped!

I had actually bought this a while ago, planning to do a post on the significance of this shade for me when I saw the theme for this month and knew it had to be it. Two coats of lovely vampy-but-never-looks-black with the slightest hint of shimmer.

Of course I couldn't leave well enough alone so clicky after the jump to see what I did!

I will be the first to admit I had no idea what I wanted to add when I sat down to polish so I basically opened my 'layering polishes' drawer and had several bottles throw up on my nails. In other words, it's the motherlode of layerings.

Polishes used:
  • Sinful Colors Green Ocean (my first time using it and it's way prettier than I thought)
  • Finger Paints Twisted and a dab of Essie Shine of the Times (I about died when I saw pics of Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure and cried myself to sleep when I knew I couldn't have it)
  • CND Sapphire Sparkle (one of the first polishes I seriously hunted for and found on ebay)
  • Zoya Frida
As you can see, this mani has different polishes that I am sentimental about on a couple of levels so yay! Thing is, I... don't know if I love the result. It's pretty and sparkly but it looks a little more blue than I wanted. Still hella interesting to look at though so it will give me something to do while in class tomorrow!

What do you guys think? I can't wait to see what the other ladies did today!

  1. I didn't think I really like vampy shades until I saw this. Hmm, I might have to add this to my next Cherry Culture order.

    1. I know how you feel, I've been saying how tired vampys are and that I just don't like vampy shades anymore. Then I put this on and had to swallow my words!
