Spring Challenge - Rainbow

Helloo! Sorry I kind of disappeared, I thought I had scheduled a post between challenges but I guess I didn't.

Now, onto the last task of the spring challenge by Mateja at Purple Glitters! Today we had to do a rainbow and I was completely stumped for a while. Then I decided to procrastinate. During that procrastination though, I came across one of my favorite memes, Puking Rainbows. So I took it as a sign and tried to represent it on my nails!

Here's the little guy that inspired the mani, he's throwing up rainbows because he just saw something really awesome.

And here's my guy:

He's uh...looking a little special and even though I tried to do his cheeks so it would look like he's puking to the side he looks a little lopsided...and dead inside. For the rest of the nails I did multi color stamping with BM-205. I'm sorry it looks a little sloppy but I had to redo two nails and just wasn't having it anymore. I like how my thumb came out though :)

So there you have it, rainbow! It's been really fun working on this challenge as always and I'm almost sure Mateja can count on me again for any challenge she thinks of.

Don't forget to see what the other ladies came up with!

Spring Challenge - Bugs

Good morning peeps!

Today I have the 4th mani in the Spring Challenge by Ms. Mateja at Purple Glitters. I can't believe we're almost done! I mean, it wasn't a long challenge at all, but I was apprehensive because of the color combinations we had to use for specific themes. I have no idea what I'm going to do for the final Rainbow challenge though :-/.

I also wanted to mention how sweet you've all been and I absolutely love reading the comments! You guys know just how to lie so I believe you actually liked the mani ;). In all seriousness, I didn't really expect such niceness and you all have definitely reaffirmed that I want to keep blogging so thank you for that.

Back to the polish at hand (pun intended), I realized the reason I didn't love my last mani was because I was overreaching, so for this challenge I kept it relatively simple. The task was bugs and I had left the blue and purple combination.

Be sure to keep reading after the jump for more pictures!

Nubar Blueberry and Holo Magic! (Pic Heavy)

Good morning! Today is a day of awesomeness. I hope you enjoy this very picture loaded post and I don't bore you!

As I was doing my nails on Sunday and I was feeling pretty bummed to be honest. I wasn't in love with the mani I did for the challenge and didn't know what to apply to my nails to make me happy so I went to my comfort zone, blues. I also wanted to feature some more blues for Autism Awareness month so I settled on Nubar Blueberry.

I had previously swatched Blueberry and hated it. It was so sheer and seemed to never dry but I kept admiring the bottle color so I gave it another shot. I still hate the formula. I generally lean away from 3 coaters anyway but this one, again, just didn't seem to dry. I thought last time (and maybe this time too) it was due to a gloppy base coat but it was just so easily dented long after I applied my quick dry top coat that I dented one nail and had to re-do another. That being said, I think I need a backup bottle (or a dupe with a better formula). The color is just that damn gorgeous. If you're a blue lover, you're probably gonna need this one. It's like Revlon Royal but brighter. I have one shot in artificial light and one in sunlight.

I wore it like this for a day when I got one of the best packages EVAH. I've been lusting after the Hits No Olimpo collection since it came out, entered giveaway after giveaway to no avail and stalked them on Ninja Polish. Finally, I caved and bought them on Llarowe! I only ordered Apolo and Hefesto ... for now... Anyway, I layered Apolo on my ring finger and Hefesto on my thumb and then I took way too many pictures.

Hefesto is actually a little more holo than Apolo, but I only did one coat of each, so the holo effect on Apolo will probably be deeper when I wear it as a full mani. Either way, they both have rainbow awesomeness that makes my heart happy.

So that's pretty much it. A beautiful blue with a so-so formula and holoy goodness. I do hope you'll forgive my pic spam ;)

See you soon for day 4 in the Spring Challenge!

The Versatile Blogger Award (My first award!)

Hello all! I was nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award by Kelly from Kelly's Nail Blog and Kelly(?) from Nailpocalypse. I have the question mark because I just know her as KawaiiKagura and Kelly (at Kelly's Nail Blog) referred to her as Kelly, so I did too.

Ramblings aside, these ladies have awesome blogs that you should definitely check out. Nailpocalypse has the most awesome header ever (seriously, I scolded my boyfriend for not thinking of it) with really cute freehand manis, plus its just fun to read her blog. Kelly has really nice swatches and I enjoy reading her posts too, so make sure you check them out!

 Here are the rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you and give them a shout out
  • State 7 random facts about yourself
  • Pass on the award to 10-15 bloggers
  • Post the award pic to your blog
 Random facts:
  • I have 2 dogs and a cat. One stray we rescued, a Golden Retriever and a 15 year old cat.
  • My jobs have always had to do with tourism (travel agency, beach tours and front desk at a hotel)
  • I wear a ring on my left thumb that I've had since 8th grade and I feel naked without it (you might have seen it on some pics)
  • My mom and I are really good cooks and I've considered adding something food related to this blog.
  • I edit all the pics for this blog on an iPad because I don't have a good photo editing software on my computer :(
  • I really really want a Macbook. Have for a while but always find a reason not to buy it.
  • I feel really luck and appreciative to live in Puerto Rico but am looking forward to continuing my studies somewhere else.
As for everything else stated in the rules, the two ladies pretty much covered who I would give the award to and they already have it as well so I kind of just don't know. I'll edit this later if anything.

Thanks again to these ladies for making me feel a little special. It's really motivating to know that, not only do people read my random ramblings, but they actually enjoy the pictures and the disasters that sometimes happen on my nails!

See you tomorrow with one of the awesomest manis I've had in a while!
