Guys, I have to admit, I made a boo boo on this one. For some reason the theme of Flowers and Stripes translated in my head to Flowers and Sticks...so I did something I'd been wanting to do for a while.
Keep reading after the jump for more pictures and how I (sorta) fixed it!
I followed this tutorial from Kayla Shevonne and did cherry blossoms! But then the polish photographed too blue so I redid my ring finger with a truer green shade. I absolutely adored how it came out. It's not as crisp as Kayla's but seeing as I did them at 1am while I was tired and wanting to go to bed I think they're pretty cute.
Then I went to edit the pictures and looked at the challenge page and realized it was stripes. Snap. I thought of ways to fix it to incorporate stripes but I just liked them too much. Then I realized I wasn't really going to be able to do the bird on my right hand so I did stripes instead.
Before I show you the picture, keep a couple of things in mind. 1) My right hand nubs do not pose as well as lefty, nor does lefty know how to take pictures of the right hand. 2) I was really tired and not about to wait to do a tape mani so I freehanded the stripes. In retrospect, I should have done vertical stripes but oh well. Also in retrospect, I wish I would have done this with Essie Navigate Her, greener and it would have had the same soft effect. Ah, best laid plans.
The weird crustiness on my index is due to top coat. I warned you about this picture! |

You didn't need to go fix it. Think so, the branches are also stripes, just short ones, right? :D Anyway, very nice manicure. I love the bird. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought as well but, trust me, if I drew a bird on my right hand he would have looked a little too special, if you know what I mean!
