Spring Challenge - Bugs

Good morning peeps!

Today I have the 4th mani in the Spring Challenge by Ms. Mateja at Purple Glitters. I can't believe we're almost done! I mean, it wasn't a long challenge at all, but I was apprehensive because of the color combinations we had to use for specific themes. I have no idea what I'm going to do for the final Rainbow challenge though :-/.

I also wanted to mention how sweet you've all been and I absolutely love reading the comments! You guys know just how to lie so I believe you actually liked the mani ;). In all seriousness, I didn't really expect such niceness and you all have definitely reaffirmed that I want to keep blogging so thank you for that.

Back to the polish at hand (pun intended), I realized the reason I didn't love my last mani was because I was overreaching, so for this challenge I kept it relatively simple. The task was bugs and I had left the blue and purple combination.

Be sure to keep reading after the jump for more pictures!

I started with one thicker coat of Essie Sexy Divide, a beautiful glowy purple, and layered one coat of CND Sapphire Sparkle on top. Sapphire Sparkle is hands down one of my favorite polishes in my sad little stash, a perfect layering duochrome that shifts from blue to purple with every color in between.

Le *swoon*. I could have left it like that, but I needed a bug! I had this idea of doing spiderwebs on my nails and a cute little spider as an accent, but when I practiced the webs I noticed I wasn't really great at it and I didn't want to have another subpar mani to show, so I settled on a cute dragonfly instead. Then I thought of adding more than one, but it was a miracle that I just got the one like I saw it in my head and didn't want to risk ruining it by adding too much so, like I said, I kept it simple.

I really like how it came out and my mom is smitten with the dragonfly so I hope you guys enjoy it as well!

Changing the subject a little, if you read my post on the Versatile Blogger award you saw me whine about not having a decent way to edit the pictures. Later that night I mentioned it to my mother, who casually said "Oh, I have Photoshop, do you want it?" :|. So now I have a nicer way to watermark my pictures closer to what I always thought of for the blog. I'm still getting the hang of it though (big props to le boyfriend who taught me), so you'll probably see some differences and more changes as I settle on a font.

Thank you for looking and remember to check the other ladies' blogs to see their take on Bugs!

    1. It sucks when something doesn't turn out like you had planned in your head, but I also think we're our own worst critics. We want to do such a good job, especially since I'm just starting, that we think things are worse. Oh yeah, I got deep.

      Thanks for your comment :D
