Cupcake Frosting Gradient & Stamping (And Some Questions For Ya)

It's FRIDAY! You know what else that means? It's my mom's bday!! Happy birthday mom!! (Yes, my boyfriend and mom's bdays are a week apart. And yes, I'm broke).

I had a hard time naming this particular combo I did. It looked so sweet and more springy than summery but I really didn't want to take it off. You might have seen a preview of this if you follow me on Instragram (hookedonpolish) or Twitter (@polishedkat) but chances are you didn't 'cause barely anyone knows I'm there :P. I post pics of nails, dogs, cats and occasionally food. If that sounds like your cup 'o tea then you know where to find me!

I used Essie Lilacism as a base and sponged with Wet 'N Wild I Need a Refresh-Mint using my regular gradient method of brushing both colors directly onto the sponge. I have to give props to Carolina from Colores de Carol for this, she posted this awesome gradient and I fell in love. I didn't have the same colors but I improvised and still loved the result! Then I stamped with Sally Hansen Whirlwind White and Konad m78. This is also my first time using a true blue Konad plate and I love it! I only bought the plate for this particular design and I can tell I'll be using it a lot.

Sorry about the mess, I was not in the mood to do double clean up for the pics :(

I freakin' loved this I tell you! The only reason I took it off was because not only was it chipping already, I got something pretty exciting in the mail and couldn't wait any longer to try it! (It's also on Instagram :D)

Now about the questions. I've been toying with the idea of posting daily but don't want to exhaust my very limited creativity for nail art so I ask, would you be interested in my adding different posts? Be it food related, make up reviews, plain swatches of polishes or specific requests (tutorial, comparisons, etc) or would you rather I just keep my current posting schedule (monday-wednesday-friday-random weekend day)? Also, if you have any suggestions about my current posts I'd love to hear that too. Let me know in the comments!

Have a good weekend everyone!

  1. It's so sweet :)

For me, you can post on anything you like as long as it is something that moves you. Don't push yourself to blog daily, it just has to flow...

    1. I looked around my stash for a while trying to think of another color to stamp with but the reality is white is so clean and crisp!

  4. Happy birthday to the awesome mom!

This is so soft and pretty! I always love seeing that stamp image too. Maybe I should buy some actual Konad plates one of these days.

I agree with Criminal Nails, just let it flow. If you push yourself you end up making it feel like a job and not something you enjoy and then it's just all downhill. I say post about whatever you want, it's your blog yo ^_^

    1. I got this plate from a blog sale for like $3! I have another Konad that I got for Amazon for like $4 too. I remember in Miami I saw the little cart for Konad in the mall and the girl kept trying to explain what it was and I was like 'bitch please'. Unrelated, but a cool story nonetheless.

Thanks for your advice, I def don't wanna lose my mojo.

  5. I love this.

I think that you should post whatever makes you comfortable :) I wouldn't mind seeing posts about different things but it has to be something you want to do or else it won't be fun. :)

  6. This is really a beautiful mani! I find it sad too when i have to take off a mani i really like. I also agree with the others the idea of a blog is to share your ideas and passions. So if it's dogs, cats or elephants and not just nails you want to write about, go right ahead, go with the flow. We also get to know you a bit better that way to. It is reassure you I won't stop following your blog, and look forward to each new nail desgin :) xx

    1. Thank you so much! It means a lot to hear(read) that. Like others have said, I don't want to push myself so much that it's not fun, but I would like to give my blog some sort of identity, something to set it apart.
