Aanyway, today I'm starting the famous 31 Day Challenge! I'm so excited to be joining these awesome ladies, I've always wanted to do this with other people and I know we've got a great group going. Special thanks go to Kimber from Kimber's Lacquer Korner for getting us all together and laying down the law ;).
Now, of course I wanted to start this off with a bang. And of course it didn't go as planned. I'm not a red nail polish fan. I can admire it on other people, but something about the way it goes with my skin tone has never convinced me. Point is, I was completely uninspired and confused when I started this. To add insult to injury, my topcoat bubbled like crazy and dragged the polish around so I had to find some way to fix it. I still kinda sorta maybe like the result a little bit though.
I used 2 coats of Essie Fishnet Stockings, a beautiful deep brick red with a great non-staining formula. Then, when everything went wrong, I layered Essie As Gold as it Gets and stamped with RA-119.
So yeah...I'm gonna go ahead and apologize for this. I really didn't know where I was going with it and it shows. I do have some really cool stuff planned out for other challenge days so it will get more exciting :D.

Have a good day lovelies!
You definitely can't tell it went wrong :)
ReplyDeleteAw thanks :D
DeleteI agree with Sam. It is definitely a fall design :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! It is quite fall, huh? Didn't realize it until now :)
DeleteYeah I don't see any wrong here, silly! Looks like a pretty cool fall mani to me. I love AGAIG with this red. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you missy :D
DeleteI loveeeeeeeeeeee the gold flakey over fishnet stockings! Fishnet stockings used to be my goto red when I used to go get my nails done at the nail salon. I haven't used it in years but you made it look so good I might just have to pick up a bottle!
ReplyDeleteThat's a very high compliment for me, thank you! That's currently my mom's go to pedi color and she even got our neighbor to buy it too. It really must be a great red if I can like it :P.
DeleteI will always love red & gold together, looks so rich!
ReplyDeleteYou can never go wrong with the classics!
DeleteLOVE! I haven't posted mine yet and I really hate them, will be redoing tonight before I post!!
ReplyDeleteLol, I so would have done that if I'd had more time. I bet the first one was not bad at all ;)
DeleteLove this! I love how gold and red look with another they compliment each other nicely :)
ReplyDeleteThank you :).
DeleteI don't see anything wrong with this! It looks great! I love all the additions you made over Fishnet Stockings.
ReplyDeleteAw thank you!
DeleteThis is gorgeous!! Love the red and gold combo. So pretty and classic!
ReplyDeleteVery true! The only time I want to wear gold jewelry is when I wear red, they just go together.
DeleteI agree with everyone here...you needn't fret because this mani looks fabulous. Love, love, love the combo of fishnet stockings and AGIG. It's a knockout!
ReplyDeleteOne more thing: GREAT pix! :)
Lisa
Thank you very much!
DeleteI really love this! Don't be hard on yourself, I think it turned out great!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I tend to pressure myself for challenges, sometimes it works and sometimes it's disappointing, but you all make me feel a lot better :)
DeleteHad you stamped with gold, it would have been perfect! Still great, just not as fresh as possible. I know what you mean, I have same feelings about red polish.
ReplyDeleteThat was the original plan but my gold stamping polish was being a pain and drying too fast and the black was just there looking at me :D
DeleteI think it looks great! Your clean up skills around your cuticles are also stellar! I always struggle with that. BTW, I just joined in on the challenge! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Trust me, I was doing cleanup for a long while. I also let them 'rest' for a bit, then cleaned up again. Red polish is a bi... to clean!
DeleteI'm so happy you joined! It's definitely gonna be a lot of fun.
wow, for a polish-gone-wrong this looks FABULOUS!!! I love this combo!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteLove it! Even though you think it went wrong it looks just great!
ReplyDeleteYou're all so nice (and forgiving)! Thank you :D
