31 Day Challenge Day 4 - Green (Or finally, a color I like!)

Hey all! Long time no see :\

I finally have my school schedule all set and I'm pretty OK with it. Wish I didn't have class starting at 8:30am but it was the only one available and it's only 2 days a week so I guess I'll survive.

Today we're finally getting to some colors I like in the challenge! I've had this mani in my head for a pretty long while and finally sat down to do it. All I can say is it has glitter and a jelly and it's all sparkly pretty. I may have taken a small crapload of pictures (again) so collage now, details later!

Look at all that green teal-y goodness...don't you wanna see more?

I started with 2 coars of L.A. Girl Obsess on pinky, ring and middle finger and Delirious for the "pistol" accents on my pointer and thumb. You may recognize Delirious from THIS post where I fawned over this awesome shade. Well, it's sister polish is no exception with a buttery formula and equally awesome shimmer.

SHIMMAH!
Then I added Orly Mermaid Tale from the new FX glitter line. I have to say, I've never been a huge glitter lover but the reflective green glitters just dance on your nails and I'm so happy to have gotten it...on sale. Also, my glitter problem has completely disappeared for reasons you'll see in an upcoming post ;)

So, looking pretty good right? Well hold on 'cause it's about to get awesome. On goes the lovely Zoya Frida. Frida is definitely a layering polish because it's so sheer, but I can't get over the lovely deep teal NyQuil color. Right up my alley. Two coats layered on top.

IT'S SO JELLY AND YUMMY! When I was walking around school this would seriously distract me when the sun hit the glitters. From afar it also looked like the greener cousin to Deborah Lippmann's Across the Universe which will apparently remain a lemming for me. I can't wait to play around some more with Frida (tee hee, I have a dirty mind, sorry) and see what other combos I can think of.

In other news, *ding ding ding* we've got a winnah! Big congrats and hugs to our Challenge organizer Kimber who won my giveaway!

Hosting a giveaway is cool but it also kind of sucks, I just want everyone to win or get something they were lemming so I feel bad for picking a winner. Nevertheless, I had to do it :P

Have a good day and go see what the other lovelies did for green nails!

  1. It does look like ATU from far away, but I like this teal base wayyy more than the navy base of ATU....this combination is just gorgeous!

  2. This is freaking stunning!!!!!!!!!! I am on love with this mani. I want to take it out for dinner and dancing! hahaha. I am a dork!

Ooooh did you get the new Peel off base coat?? If you did, I swear I will cry. It's not available here and I am so bummed that I cannot find it online either. Waaaaaaaah.

Also, I agree. I'm looking forward to my giveaway but also dreading it since I have to pick one winner (or rafflecopter does) and I really wish I could give something to everyone. That's also the reason that if i see someone is really lemming something that I can get, I'll send it to them. I'm a big ole softie. hehehe.

    1. Hahaha I believe that's one of the highest compliments I've ever received! The mani accepts your date.

Noo I didn't BUY the peel off base coat. I may have made it though :D. As soon as I find it, I'll send you the link. Your life will be forever changed.

Me too! I had kind of already decided that I would send you some Bettinas when the giveaway was over :D. I was also going to try to find another bottle of Twisted for someone that was lemming it big time. I want to be a polish fairy, fulfilling lemmings!

  3. WOW. That is one AMAZING manicure. I strongly dislike any swatches of those Zoya jellies, and I haven't yet been convinced to get Mermaid Tale... But then you go and post THIS!!! I am drooling here! What a fabulous layering combo! I am loving LA Girl Delirious as well... eek, my poor wallet!

THANK YOU. I am saving this post as an inspiration that I will be trying to recreate someday. And to drool after. WOW WOW WOW. (I'm so happy with this mani that I don't even care that I didn't win! HA! I just WISH that I could have this on my nails right now). Keep on keeping on! Gotta go wipe off the drool...
