Month(s) of Untrieds: Essence Walk On Air

Wee Friday! Not like a wee Friday, but like Weee it's Friday!!

Welcome to my month(s) of untrieds! I didn't behave very well during July and ended up with a serious amount of new polishes that I've yet to swatch/wear. I know I owe you a haul pic but I'm waiting on two very exciting packages that I want to include in the picture. That being said, I've decided August will be a NO BUY month for me and I'm really going to try not to buy any new nail polishes until I manage to wear all the ones I have.

When I started really loving polish I was all about the dark vampy colors but, lately, I've been in the mood for brighter colors. I don't know if it's because it was summer and that's what was available but I'm just not feeling the previews I've seen of the fall collections so this seems as good a time as any to do this little project.

For the first day I have some old swatches of Essence Walk On Air, one of the two lonely Essence polishes I could rescue from a ravaged Ulta during my trip to Miami in April.

Mmm creamy blue perfection in two easy coats. I really wish I could get more Essence polishes, they have such great quality for such a great price and I quite like the tiny bottles, except when it comes to storage.

Sorry this first day was kind of a snooze but I'm still giving my nails a little polishing break while I apply the Nailtiques treatment. Next week I'll have all new manis while I work my way through the untrieds!

To apologize for the boring post, I give you a picture of my dog while I was packing:

Unfortunately, while I could not take her with me on the trip, she was there in spirit. And in hair. There was hair on every piece of clothing that was on the bottom.

Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend and don't text your ex when you're drunk. It almost never works out well.

  1. I thought I was the only one not really feeling the fall collections at the moment. I'm working through some untrieds as well. I still have untrieds from last fall! I think my untrieds at last count was something ridiculous...around 500. *gasp*. We need to show our untrieds some love!

  2. Very pretty blue! I hear ya about the fall collections, I'm not really feeling any of them either =( I don't know if its because I have so much polish already or if they really are just lame lol.

    1. That's exactly what I'm thinking! I don't have a large collection, less than 200, but I still don't want to dupe myself and am being very careful about what I buy. I mean, how many blackened shimmery polishes do I really need?

  3. Love this blue, such a pretty color. I'm not into the fall collections right now either, I'm just trying to enjoy the warm weather with bright colors :D

    1. You all have made me feel so much better about the fall collections! The problem is, we know the beautiful complexity about the shimmer in the polish and how it glows under certain lighting but, when I show it to someone else, they're all "It just looks black". Boo, nail muggles, boo.

  4. AMG PUPPY!! I too have a pet hair issue when packing. It's like they know.

I don't have any Essence polishes but I always love them when I see swatches. They always look like they are so nice to work with. I hope to remedy that as there will be an Ulta when we finally move at the end of the month. Ahhh civilization!

    1. Thank you! I'm always all "OMFG PUPPY" when I see a dog and the boyfriend always says "I'm pretty sure it's not a puppy, looks like a dog". Whatever, it's a puppy.

My dog gets all melodramatic sighing in corners when suitcases are pulled out. Not only does she know we're leaving, she wants us to feel like crap about it.

I'm a little envious of your move to civilization, you're gonna have such cool stuff close to you!

  6. What a great blue! I was all about the vampy ones when I started too, but this spring/summer really got me into some pretty, bright shades. Good luck with your nail treatment--and the month of no-buy! My willpower couldn't even pretend to try it. >_<

    1. Thank you! The no buy will definitely be hard, especially with the indie restocks I don't want to miss. But I'll be strong! .... most of the time :D

  7. Im just wondering, have you ever been about to use a polish, open it, and the cap comes off and you have to glue it back on the brush? This has happened with some of my Essie's and Essence's (hahaha thats weird(: ) and i wanna know if this has happened with anyone else

    1. Actually, yes! It's been a while since it's happened though. I don't know if it's because I'm storing polishes upright now or maybe I've had good luck, but it has happened. Specially with the caps that were really glued on.

On occasion I couldn't glue it back for some reason and just polished with that little clear nub that holds the brush :P
